10 New Year’s Resolutions for Cats

New Year’s is a time to better ourselves and make plans for a happy new year. Here are 10 resolutions your cat may want to consider if he was on the naughty list last year.

#1 – I will cut down on catnip

Do you remember what I did at the Christmas party? ‘Cause I don’t. I think it’s time to dispose of all those catnip-filled mice I hide under your bed.

#2 – I’ll stop hunting mice

Like squirrels, I’ve heard they are high in cholesterol. Plus, I know you don’t like it when I leave you some in your shoe. Why waste my time when you are soo unappreciative?

#3 – I will take more naps

24 hours in a day is just not enough time to get all those naps in, but I should really try. That time I spent playing with you for example, could have been spent napping.

#4 – I promise to use the litterbox

Since you went to the trouble to put it out, I guess I could at least use it. Besides, you really seem to like scooping it out – look at the how carefully you handle, bag, and seal it–must be worth it’s weight in gold. In that case, I’ll be sure to leave you more.

#5 – I will let you sleep in

As part of my“take more naps” I will let you sleep in. Instead of waking you at 4am, I’ll wait until 5am. (I don’t want you to get lazy).

#6 – I will get along with the dog

He may be big and smelly, but he is good for something. Who else can I blame when I shred the newspaper or knock over the lamp?

#7 – I will be nice to the vet

Nobody likes going to the doctor’s, but I know he is just trying to keep me healthy so I can rule the world. I won’t sink my teeth into her next time…as long as she doesn’t take my temperature…

#8 – I will play more

I am going to stay young by playing more. Which means you need to play with me more. I need to keep you healthy too..otherwise whose going to refill the food bowl?

#9 – I won’t scratch the furniture

I will try to refrain from scratching up your furniture. Even if it is my way of telling you your choice in décor is hideous.

#10 – I will cuddle more

I know you love it when I interrupt whatever thing you are doing because you are bored (reading a book, typing on the computer, etc), and sit and purr. So, I am going to do it more in 2015.
