Happy Birthday, sweet Emma!
Oh, your mom loves you so, and the light of 16 candles might not be as bright as your eyes, but they certainly shine warmly on you in your tutu and crown.
Blow out the candles and make your wish of fish cake come true!
The Crests might have been singing to a human on her sweet sixteen, but Emma the cat is still a ‘teenage queen’.

Though as a senior cat, this teenager is more like 80 in human years. Teen or old lady, Emma’s mom knew her furry queen deserved a special celebration.
Throwing a Sweet Sixteen Party for a Best Furiend
At 15, Maloray Powell took in a feral kitten, not realizing she and the orange, tabby kitten would grow from children to adults together. Maloray told the Dodo, “She’s literally been with me through adulthood, marriage, career and three cross-country moves.”
And now, 16 years later, the pair are still family. Because Emma has been by her side through everything, Maloray wanted to throw a meowgical party to celebrate her best bud.
But when a girl turns 16, the celebration needs to be lavish and Maloray understood this fact well.
For her party, Emma wore an ensemble of tulle and twinkles, her pink and purple tutu fluffy, and her tiara shiny.
The birthday girl was gifted with new toys and an elegant cake, decorated with a pink bow and a crown perched on top. Maloray shared the cake was made of “tuna, catnip, & wheat.”
But, as cat lovers know, cats can be picky pants. “She didn’t actually eat any of the cake. I scooped fishy pate on top to trick her!”
At first, Emma was a little unsure of all the fuss, but Maloray said, “Once she saw the salmon pâté on the cake she didn’t care about the photographer, equipment, tiara and tutu.”
And with Emma distracted by her cake, Kari Ann Morris, the professional photographer hired for the event, captured the most purrfect images of Emma enjoying the fishy treat.
Cake and a Nap
Cats can be party animals, that’s for sure. But at 16, all Emma needed for a good celebration was her tasty treat, some love from her mom and dad, and then a long nap. After her cake, Emma had no problem leaving the party for that much-deserved snooze.
The birthday party lasted only 10 minutes, but for a cat motivated by snacks, that’s a good, long time!
And Emma, we at iHeartCats.com think, “you’re the prettiest, loveliest girl” we’ve ever seen celebrating her sweet 16!
