Man Brings One-Eyed Kitten Home, Hopes Wife Doesn’t Divorce Him

| December 5, 2024

A husband named Shane knew he was taking a risk bringing home a surprise addition to the family, especially since his wife had made it very clear: no more pets. Still, he couldn’t resist when he crossed paths with a tiny one-eyed kitten who needed a home. In the video, Shane humorously expresses, “I hope she doesn’t divorce me.” The moment he walked through the door with the kitten in his arms, he braced himself for her reaction. His wife, just finishing her last work call, immediately noticed the new arrival.

“What is that? Is that a critter?” Shane’s wife, Alexandra, asked, her voice filled with a mix of curiosity and exasperation. Despite her initial surprise, she couldn’t help but soften as the kitten shyly approached, melting everyone’s hearts. The family already had a full house with three large dogs, three children, and not much extra space. Adding another animal seemed impractical, but the kitten quickly charmed her way into their lives.

The kitten’s playful energy and resilience made an instant impression, especially considering she managed perfectly well with only one eye. “Having one eye has not slowed her down at all,” her new owner said, admiring her fearless spirit.

The kitten, now named Athena, fit right in with the household’s existing theme of Greek God names. “We already have one named Apollo, so Athena just felt right,” Shane explained. True to her namesake, the little warrior quickly claimed her spot as part of the family. Whether it was perching on the back of his chair like a tiny parrot or playfully batting at her new canine siblings, Athena brought a new spark of joy to their home.

Sadly, this seems to have been a disturbing pattern that must be addressed. To protect future animals and provide him with the support he needs, he must be banned from ever owning animals again and undergo mandatory counseling.

“She’s just absolutely perfect,” Shane shared, reflecting on how seamlessly Athena had become a part of their lives. Despite the initial doubts, even his wife couldn’t help but fall for the little kitten who had so unexpectedly completed their family. The video is too sweet to miss.
