In this day and age, the news had gained a negative connotation for being a downer. But what if they only broadcasted current events important to our feline friends, and they were reported by cats? Well, that’d be a different story!
Thankfully, kitty-loving artist Georgia Dunn dreamed up this concept in the “Breaking Cat News” comic series. Three of Dunn’s illustrated reporters are based on her kitties, Lupin, Elvis, and Puck.
“Their real-life personalities are very close to the comic,” she said in a story by Oregon Live. “People ask if Elvis is as ‘intense’ in real life. And, if anything, he is even more intense. Puck is a sensitive, empathetic kitty — though he is more of a natural hunter in real life than I show in the comic. And Lupin is very active and curious, a real ‘cat of adventure.'”
Her website features a slew of long and short comic stories that have captivated the hearts of feline lovers, and Dunn is excited to debut her daily comic strip next week in the Oregonion’s e-edition. Her work is also in their printed paper and current e-edition.
In the meantime, Dunn granted iHeartCats permission to share one of our favorite pieces that she’s created. (We have a soft spot for shelter cats, after all!)
