The night is dark and the lights are off. Tucked away in bed, you expect only to hear silence and the familiar sighs of your house settling. These are sounds you know, but imagine hearing a creak unfamiliar or a rustling by some force unknown.
Not so long along ago, around the midnight hour, a family residing in Collier County, FL, experienced such terror.
Hearing “disturbing noises,” the family called the Collier County Sheriff’s Department.
Krista Williamson, a CCSO spokeswoman reported, “The caller thought they heard someone knocking at the sliding door, then heard what sounded like a kitten meowing. The caller was concerned that it might (have been) a ruse to get them to open the door.”
Sgt. Sudano, Cpl. Caceres, Cpl. Nova and Cpl. Henderson of the force arrived on site for an investigation of a suspected burglary in-progress. Searching for the intruder or any signs of break-in, the brave deputies discovered a perpetrator in the house. Or should we say, purr-petrator.
Cat Nabbed!
A Facebook post revealed “a small feline was the culprit behind the disturbing sounds that prompted the call.” The big, bad criminal walked on four adorable paws and wore a fur coat in tuxedo shades. His mugshot reveals the cutest suspect ever!

Though the cat burglar was harmless, the officers still booked him in with the Collier County Domestic Animal Services for “fur-ther” questioning.
When the tuxedo cat was taken in, turned out the kitty had been micro-chipped. The chip revealed his identity. Bones the cat couldn’t escape the law!

With his name and personal information revealed, Domestic Animal Services attempted to contact his family. Sadly, attempts failed and its unknown what became of Bones’s family as he is now seeking a forever home.
According to the Collier County Domestic Animal Services, “Bones is currently in foster care recovering from a URI [upper respiratory infection] but will be available for adoption, hopefully soon!”

While the family at the scene of the crime was scared, their story turned out with a happy ending, leaving them a hilarious incident forever remembered. We hope Bones finds his happy ending with a forever family very soon.
