Catfe is part cafe, part foster home for cats, and a community gathering space for cat lovers of Vancouver in need of some quality kitty time. Home to a selection of eight to twelve adoptable rescue cats, we offer drinks and snacks, fun meowchandise, and space for hanging with the kitties.
Living at Catfe provides cats with a safe space where they can wander about at will, socialize with people and live normal lives, rather than being cooped up in a cage.

Owner Michelle Furbacher’s niche establishment is so successful that she had to close it temporarily when all the patron cats found their forever homes. There’s no lack of stray kitties in Vancouver, but Catfe exclusively fosters felines from the SPCA, and they are working to–er–“restock.”

“We haven’t been able to keep enough cats in the café at a time,” Furbacher said in a recent Vancity Buzz article. “We do have a couple cats in at the moment…Two of them are quite shy and I felt remaining open for a bunch of people to hang out with these two cats, it might [be] too overwhelming for those cats.”
But not to worry. The Catfe will reopen on Friday, January 8th. Reservations are recommended, as the maximum human capacity is 16. Admission is $5 with a Catfe purchase, or $8 if you just want to mingle. Hey, it’s a lot cheaper than therapy.
