Dave is one heck of a guy. He’s the friend we all need…loyal, loving, and covered in stripes. That’s right, stripes! And, he has a set of whiskers you wouldn’t believe. Ok, you’ve probably already puzzled out that Dave is a cat. But that doesn’t make him any less of a friend . If anything, the fact Dave is a cat means he’ll be the best friend you’ll ever know.
But, you see, Dave the tabby cat was in need of a home, and CATS Cradle Shelter in Fargo, South Dakota, tried to help him out by writing a biography that’s simply priceless.
Cat lover and Reddit user u/Justice_Bananas, helped further the good word of Dave by sharing the kitty’s bio in the subreddit r/Cats. To say it was well-received might be an understatement as the post already has more than 14k upvotes, as well as a long thread of comments that will leave you laughing out loud!
Meet a “Perfect Dave”
The first thing to know about Dave, he’s an adult tabby cat, his kitten days behind him as he was born somewhere between 2016 and 2018. This makes him a calm, sensible guy who cares about others; he is, in fact, “a perfect Dave.”
The bio informs us this handsome grey tabby is neutered, so no wandering for him. He’s “quiet, calm, and sometimes overlooked, but is the best neighbor on the block.”
So, what are things this perfect Dave might do for a friend?
“Dave will snow-blow your drive before you come home from a winter vacation, so you can drive right into your garage.”
“Dave will keep an eye on your house when you take the kids to Califorinia for a week.”
And in keeping an eye on your house, if things go wrong, Dave is handy with his paws, able to “shop-vac your carpets and set up fans” when the basement floods two days before you’re scheduled to come home. This kind cat will even get in touch with the insurance guy and provide him with pictures.
And when you get home, Dave is the confidante who will have all the mess already cleaned up. Not only that, “he always has an extra beer in the fridge for a buddy.”
Oh, and “he tells the best fishing stories.”
What else is there to say? Somebody should adopt Dave right away!

Overlooked No More
Judging by the comments on Dave’s bio, finding a home won’t take long for this good cat. Everyone was singing his praises, including u/HowAboutThatBounce, who simply said, “I love Dave.”
u/Beekerboogirl wanted to know, “Where’s Dave now? Maybe he wants to come live at my house.”
u/glura said, “If you have a friend like Dave you are a lucky person indeed.”
One can’t help wondering if this handsome grey tiger was named after a human, Dave who’s proven to be a solid friend in the past, judging by the homage in the kitty’s bio. Either way, cat or human, Dave is a good man with a giving heart. Thanks for all you do, Dave!
