You know the expression: tiny but might? This tagline couldn’t be more fitting for the story we are about to share. When dog mom Latoya adopted a teeny kitten named Dimonte, she wasn’t prepared for what was about to unfold. Her pup, a Cane Corso named Purpose, is larger than life. Literally. The dog weighs a whopping 130 pounds! But despite his size and the bad rap Cane Corsos get, he is a squishy, drooling love bug! The gentle giant continues to amaze Latoya with his winning and patient personality.
The tiny but mighty kitten in the story, Dimonte, was roughly five pounds when Latoya brought him home. The feisty, adorable cat wormed his way into Latoya’s heart instantly. She wanted to be fair to both her babies and ensure their introduction went smoothly. She did everything by the book. She separated Dimonte from Purpose in another room. As the dog sniffed beneath the door, Dimonte stuck his paws out, longing to be united with the desirable creature. But Latoya knew she had to take things slow.
Once Latoya trusted the situation, Dimonte and Purpose’s first introduction went off without a hitch! Purpose knew to be gentle and courteous. But Dimonte– as if he understood what the dog could handle, went kitty crazy! He stomped on his head, pawed at his jowls, wrapped his cat arms around his neck, and went to town. All while Latoya screamed, “Dimonte, you have my baby in a headlock!”
Dimonte’s antics are a daily reminder of the trust that can form between two species, in spite of size and differences. Latoya playfully teases the cat, saying he’s a total bully. She often calls out to him, in reprimand, using his full name: “Dimonte Isaiah Green!” and it’s too hilarious to miss. Scroll down to the Reel below to meet the pair. They will make your day!
