There’s something special about giving back to those who don’t have a voice to speak for themselves. Cats are majestic creatures that warm our hearts and make us melt with their lovably quirky antics. To do something good for the cat kind, you can donate your to any local animal shelter to those cats who aren’t lucky enough to have loving homes. Many of these facilities operate under nonprofit foundations and every little bit helps in their crusade to help the feline kind.

When you want to give some of yourself to cats, it doesn’t matter how you donate, but simply that you do. If you want to donate your time, money, or even food/animal supplies all would be greatly appreciated as many rescues/shelters survive solely on donations. If you’d like to donate, there are a number of ways and places in which you can easily do so.

The Humane Society — This is one of the most well known organizations that work for giving animals proper food, shelter and forever loving homes with their mission for the ethical treatment of animals and cruelty prevention.

The ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) — This was the first humane society founded in North America and is one of the largest in the world today. Across the United States (in most larger cities) there are local centers where you can donate whichever way you choose.

Donate food and supplies:

You don’t have to spend a lot when it comes to giving back to cats. There are a number of items you can donate from your own home that local shelters would certainly use that you may not even realize:

  • Household cleaning supplies
  • Cat food
  • Cat litter
  • Gently used pet supplies–beds, collars, food bowls, etc.

Become a foster parent:

By becoming a foster parent for a cat in need of a temporary residence, you can do a great deed by opening your home to an unfortunate kitty until they are matched with their permanent loving owner. This way you’ll get to spoil a cat with love and affection on a full-time basis!
