Oh, cat parent, you know the heart-aching cuteness we speak of! And we’re willing to bet, when the days of extreme adorability come, you just can’t help melting into a pile of cat loving mush, happy to do whatever your cat bids.

The Nature of Cuteness

As cats are top-notch predators, their eyes are finely tuned to take in minute details lost on the human eye. Felines hunt in the night when light is scarce and their pupils open wide, allowing cats to see in the dark. Those wide eyes also take in a scope of vision far wider than our own. When a cat is surprised or scared, the pupils will dilate to express their concern as well, but eye dilation in cats isn’t always a sign of fear or predatory instinct.

A cat’s pupils also expand when the kitty is happy or excited. And with that elated look of big, round pupils comes the super cuteness that just about kills us!
