Howard Stern is a modern household name and is best known as a radio and television personality. But did you know that he and his wife, Beth, are also feline fanatics?
Recently, Mrs. Stern told Fox News that they have a full house… of foster kittens!
“It’s crazy. Right now we have…I have to count…17 kittens in the house,” she said in the story.
Beth Stern, an animal advocate and lover, has been involved in many charitable events, including this year’s BTIG Charity Day. She also works closely with the North Shore Animal League, “the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization,” as described on Facebook.
It’s refreshing to see that the couple doesn’t just give and raise money to worthy causes – they also get hands-on by housing kitties while they wait for their forever families.
In a news story about the 2016 “Kitten Summer Games,” Mrs. Stern told Fox News that they’ve fostered almost 300 felines – of all ages – over the years. And since that interview last August, that number has certainly grown.
“Whoever needs us is welcome to come in our home,” she told the news station.
Beth isn’t the only Stern who’s enamored by cats. Husband Howard also loves having their home full of furry friends.
“He was right there with me when we decided, ‘You know what? … Let’s foster a litter of kittens,’” Mrs. Stern said in a Fox News interview last year. “We loved it so much. We cried like babies when we handed them off to their forever families! We didn’t realize the emotional attachment involved.”
The kitty-loving power couple even seems to bond over their shared love of cats.
“[Our idea of a date night is] probably just going to a nice restaurant, having a glass of wine and talking about all of our pets, all of our kittens,” Mrs. Stern said in the story.
The Sterns have several permanent purring household members, including a one-eyed cat named Sophia who is “madly in love with Howard,” according to a story by the NY Post.
Celebrities, they’re just like us – they love cats, too!
