Lil Bub’s space brother has landed! Though Instagram star Lil Bub has left us, she’s still watching over her family and has now sent them an adorable floof named Mr. Marbles. And the moment Bub’s family met the cutie at their local shelter, they knew Marbles was a gift delivered by their special girl.
And like his space sister, Mr. Marbles exudes magical energy, a kind his dad describes as “equal parts confidence, curiosity, and confusion.” Plus, he’s got the cutest little face and already knows how to charm a camera. Welcome to Earth, Mr. Marbles
News of Mr. Marbles’ arrival landed just after New Year’s when Lil Bub’s dad, Mike Bridavsky, took to the late Instagram star’s page to show off their family’s newest member. He posted a cute photo of the pair snuggled together with the caption, “I’m thrilled to officially introduce you to our new magical space cat.”
Mike also shared the story of meeting Marbles at their local shelter and how he knew the little one was “truly a magical critter undoubtedly sent to us by our beloved BUB.”
“He has the same magical energy that brings pure joy and wonder to anyone that meets him,” Mike wrote. “I literally cried tears of joy when I first held him in my lap on our way home from the shelter – the same feeling I had the first time I held BUB 11 years ago.”
“He weighs five pounds, has an impressive snaggletooth, a head shaped like a donut, enormous blue eyes, and a double-wide half-length tail that probably belonged to a raccoon in a past life.”
In other words, he’s just purrfect!
Already in Love
Though he only moved in a couple of weeks ago, Marbles already has the entire family, new fur siblings included, wrapped around his extra fluffy tail. Mike explained they’re all “quite literally addicted to Mr. Marbles.”
Marbles seems to be feeling the same about his family, too, because his dad reported, “He follows us around, snuggles any time we sit down, and sleeps quietly beside us at night.”
And about that pensive look, his dad said, “Don’t let his face fool you, he’s incredibly happy, curious, confident, and sometimes a little confused.”
But don’t worry about that confusion. If you check out the comments on some of Mr. Marbles’ posts, you’ll find Lil Bub chimes in from time to time, offering her space brother some advice and some compliments. That’s just what “magical space cats from the planet Bub Ub Bub” do for each other! And like his space cat brethren, “Mr. Marbles can see far into the future or deep into the past as easily as he can see a glob of yogurt on the kitchen floor.”
In a short time, Marbles has already amassed a strong following on his Earthly mission. And to these newly-devoted fans, Mike shared:
“I am really looking forward to sharing more about Mr. Marbles’ life and adventures through videos and photos as he continues BUB’s legacy and mission to help special needs pets.”
