In Scotland, a litter of 5 black kittens was found abandoned in freezing weather on the side of the road. When two passers-by walking their dogs spotted the babies, they called the SPCA for help. Luckily, the kittens were rescued before it was too late.
“The kittens were terrified, but fortunately they are now safe and sound thanks to two female walkers,” Inspector Jenni Surgeon told the Scottish SPCA. “We are now searching for the person who cruelly abandoned these defenceless kitties at such a cold time of the year.”
The organization posted the story on their Facebook page, asking for help from the public.
“Abandoning an animal is an offence under the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006 and anyone found guilty of doing so can expect to be banned from keeping animals for a fixed period or life. Anyone with information is being urged to contact our Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.”
The kittens are not currently up for adoption, but they are getting the constant care they need until they are big and strong enough to be re-homed. We’re so glad that these tiny black beauties were able to get a second chance!
