Back in late September, Canopy Cat Rescue was called upon to rescue a poor kitty that was stuck in a tree, 90 feet up, for 5 days! The residents of Cedar Creek Aparment complex had heard the meows and cries coming from the cat, but had not been able to find anyone to rescue the kitty. Shaun Sears, of Canopy Cat Rescue, says the residents “had been frustrated because they called the fire department, animal control police and even called several local tree services and arborists, but they all said they either didn’t do cat rescues or that they had a fee”.
Shaun says the cat was a little skittish at first, but he was able to gain the cat’s trust by scratching behind his ears and nuzzling him. He was then able to grab the cat by the nape of the neck and safely pull him into his arms. Sears then brought the cat down to safety, but not before getting in a couple of selfies and a GoPro video with the cat. Shaun and his brother-in-law, Tom Otto, have been rescuing cats since 2009, and this rescue was their 325th in 2015! Keep up the great work guys!! 😀
