A selfless cat named Max isn’t just Spike’s best friend; he’s his emotional support animal. His doggy brother Spike lost his eyes when the duo was surrendered to Saving Grace Animal Society in Alberta, Canada. They spent eight years with their owners, who cruelly left them outside. They had no other choice but to snuggle together to stay warm.
The devoted and loyal cat stuck with Spike through thick and thin. When Spike needed both eyes removed due to severe cataracts, Max clung to his brother to give him all the furry support he needed. Max never left his side! And some say cats aren’t emotional creatures… Yea right!
Amanda McClughan told CBC News, “Max just provides a level of comfort and support for him. He can smell him, he can feel him, and so it’s kind of a way to bring his stress and his anxiety down.”
The rescue group posted on their page, “Max is the yin to his yang. He is the constant that Spike has known throughout his life, and because of that it’s imperative they be adopted together. Max is such a character and he’s sure to keep you laughing!”
The bonded pair needed to find a forever family together even though, if you think about it, Max is Spike’s home. The rescue group posted a desperate plea to their Facebook page and it worked! The wonder kitty and his brother found the purrfect home. We are so happy, and relieved, that the blind pup and his support cat will be together, forever!
