We cat-lovers know that black cats are lucky. But if you asked the fugitive in this story, he may not agree…
When police in Pennsylvania caught up with 23-year-old Jonathan Michael Steffy, who had a warrant out for his arrest, he ran and hid. Police thought they’d lost track of him, until they noticed a black cat staring “intently” at a nearby shed.
The officers opened the shed and found it empty. But when they looked back at the black cat for guidance, they noticed it still staring…at another shed beyond the one they’d just searched.
They opened the second shed, and this time, they found Steffy. His hiding place had been busted – thanks to the perceptive black cat.
There’s no word as to whether the kitty belonged to a neighbor or was feral, but either way, the officers were grateful for the tip.
“The Ephrata PD is thankful for any crime fighting assistance we get, whether human or feline!” they wrote on their Facebook page.
Some believe that animals can sense whether people have good or bad intentions, and this story definitely supports that idea. If you know anyone who is still superstitious about black cats, they should hear about this awesome crime-fighting kitty!
