Rescuers Spent 12 Hours To Save Kitten Stuck In A Storm Drain

The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee is a non-profit rescue organization in Charleston, West Virginia that focuses on rescuing cats and kittens.

One morning, they received a call from good samaritans who heard a kitten crying for help. City workers already responded to the call and we’re already in the area. They have gone down the drain under the streets, but they didn’t have any luck getting the kitten.

The poor kitty was scared. She ran from her rescuers and further down the drain. The people of Itty Bitty Kitty Committee then came forward to help. First they set up a live trap, but that didn’t work.

Then they came up with a crazy idea: they bought fishing nets, attached them to long poles, and used that to trap the kitten. It was a crazy idea but it worked. They finally got her trapped in the nets, and then lifted her up to safety.

The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee told LoveMeow, “She was eating some food we had dropped in the center of the drain so she was preoccupied while we lowered the two nets. We were able to close them up around her.”

The rescue took about 12 hours, but these patient rescuers didn’t give up on this adorable kitty.

The kitten was about six-weeks-old, and they named her Catlyn.

Isn’t Catlyn adorable? She’s so adorable that the vet who treated her took her home to foster her. But they fell in love with her, so they decided to adopt her.

A big thank you for Catlyn’s rescuers for saving her life. Not only was this kitty rescued from the storm drain, she also now has a loving, forever home!
