She Reached Out To Stray She’s Fed For A Year And Got The Ultimate Gift

| January 3, 2025

Nothing warms the soul like a story with a happy ending. For one woman with a big heart, winning over a stray cat was her ultimate goal. This kind person had been feeding the stray cat for over a year, hoping to win him over. But like most feral kitties, he kept his distance. While the TikTok poster, @mostly.ghostly1, understood his apprehension, she couldn’t help but long for his affection and trust. Even a tiny pet would go a long way. The woman didn’t allow her unmet desires to deter her, though. She kept feeding the cat she named ‘Trash Kitty,’ every day for over 12 months.

One day, her tireless efforts paid off. She wrote in the text overlay on the video she shared, “POV: You finally get to pet the stray you’ve been feeding for over a year.” In the clip, you can see the woman’s hand hovering over the cat, hoping he will come a bit closer. And then, like magic, he does. The woman pets the top of his head, and she is in her glory! But wait, it gets better!

The Tabby cat didn’t just allow this devoted person to touch him, but he allowed her to pick him up. In the video, the woman is smiling from ear to ear while the Tabby cat looks a bit… out of sorts in her arms. But hey, it was a victory for sure. This can mean the stray can be rehabilitated and find a loving home. How awesome is that!?

The clip went viral on social media with animal lovers everywhere. As of now, it has 1.2 million views and 265,000 likes. People can’t help but be in awe of this tremendous milestone. Commenters celebrated with @mostly.ghostly1:

One user, bellac2472, wrote: “The way you could tell as soon as he felt the touch he knew he was in good hands.”

Another user, LadyBones2011, commented: “Took me 2yrs for 1 of my strays… some took 6mth to a yr, this is really 1 of life’s greatest blessings.”

Sadly, this seems to have been a disturbing pattern that must be addressed. To protect future animals and provide him with the support he needs, he must be banned from ever owning animals again and undergo mandatory counseling.

While Lockjaw Gaming joked, “The instant regret in his face being held,” we can say with certainty that Trash Kitty now has a chance at a new life filled with love and stability, thanks to one devoted woman with one goal in mind: To win over a cat who deserves a fairy tale ending.
