Ludo is not your ordinary house cat.
At just 2-years-old, Ludo, a Maine Coon, achieved the Guinness World Records title of Longest Living Domestic Cat in October of 2015. A year later, this kitty had grown even bigger–and so has his family!
Cat-mom Kelsey Gill told Love Meow that Ludo was the biggest kitten in his litter. But when he grew to be over 20 pounds by his first birthday, they knew there was something extra-special about this massive Maine Coon.
Residing in Wakefield, England, Ludo currently weighs in at 33 1/2 pounds and measures a whopping 47 inches long.
Since he was a kitten, Ludo has been best friends with his 4-year-old human brother, Cameron.
“Little lad isn’t well so big Cat Ludo is by his side as per!” reads this photo’s caption on Instagram.
“He’s so gentle, he’s a big softy. He’s like a big teddy bear, very chilled personality,” mom Kelsey told Love Meow.
“When your pet cat is bigger than you are, there’s no where to hide,” the caption reads.
“Ludo would follow him to the ends of the Earth,” reads a caption of Cameron and the colossal kitty on Instagram.
Now, Ludo is the guardian to another tiny human: baby brother, Ryder!
This huge cat dwarfs his tiny 9-pound sibling.
“He enjoys being near by with both our boys, it’s like he’s watching out for them,” Kelsey told Love Meow.
It’s clear that Ludo is king of this castle, and we’re sure that this purring protector wouldn’t have it any other way!
